WARES Golf Outing
Overview
The 36th Annual W.A.R.E.S. GOLF OUTING will again take place at the MUSKET RIDGE GOLF CLUB, at Myersville, Maryland, located midway between Frederick and Hagerstown.
Golfers will play in foursomes. Organize your own and submit the names and shirt sizes with your registration, or be assigned to a foursome by the Golf Coordinator. Play will be Captain’s Choice (Florida Scramble). Winter rules will be used. Each player’s drive must be utilized at least once on each nine. U.S.G.A. rules govern all play, with the exceptions of any posted local rules.
Play begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Entrants register at the Pro Shop before starting play. Plan to arrive by 8:00 a.m. to register, assemble your foursomes, pick up golf carts, and find your tee. Foursomes will head for their respective tees at 8:45 am, with a shotgun start at 9:00 am.
After eighteen holes, we will gather in the clubhouse for post golf activities: cash bar, lunch, awards ceremonies and that great WARES–style of camaraderie. Non-golfers are invited to join the golfers for the cash bar, lunch and awards ceremonies ($25). Golfers are expected to entertain everyone with the usual outrageous stories of their exploits on the course, or their partners may entertain us with the truth about their exploits.
Awards will be presented to each member of the top three foursomes with the lowest scores, plus longest drive and closest to pin.
See the list of sponsorship opportunities, below.
PAYMENT
The fee is $175, per person, and must be made in advance. The payment covers golf, cart, lunch, a golf shirt and awards. Be sure to include your shirt sizes when you purchase tickets.

Virginia DRPT Future Rail Programs
Presented by Emily Stock, AICP, Chief of Rail Transportation
Emily Stock, AICP, serves as the Chief of Rail Transportation, providing leadership for freight and passenger rail planning and policy development as well as DRPT’s freight rail grant programs and initiatives. She collaborates with partner agencies, railroads, and neighboring states to develop programs with maximum benefit and a realistic implementation strategy. Ms. Stock serves as the Commonwealth’s representative on the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Council on Rail Transportation and on the Technical Committee of the Southeast Rail Corridor Commission.
The 2026 Virginia Statewide Rail Plan is a long-range strategic document led by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) that sets a vision for the future of passenger and freight rail across the Commonwealth. The plan outlines both short‑term (six‑year) and long‑term (20‑year) investment priorities to improve rail service, enhance safety and reliability, and support economic growth. It incorporates public and stakeholder input to address passenger rail expansion, freight rail needs, and impacts at highway‑rail crossings, ensuring the rail network evolves to meet the needs of communities, businesses, and travelers statewide.
